Wonderful Kenya Safari experiences with Lion Rider !
A bit crowded as we were a group of eight in a relatively small van with all our luggage’s. However, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the trip as Johnson, our guide & driver, is very experienced, nice and helpful. Other than missing big migration (bad timing), our group managed to see all animals that we were looking for and more. Our experiences were more than we expected as Johnson managed to show us eg. cheetah hunting, families of lions, hundreds of elephants tried to cross a car path right in front of us. Our trip was only a few days but we covered Masa Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboselli. Overall, the trip was great mainly due to our very good tour guide, Johnson and the arrangements he made. Exceptional Experience
Johnson was truly an exceptional guide. He knew exactly where to position us to watch the elephants crossing in Amboseli, and we even caught a cheetah hunting because of his incredible awareness of animal behaviour. I also appreciated how patient and respectful he was throughout, without interfering with any of the wildlife during safari. Best safari experience
Johnson was an awesome guide with great knowledge of all the national parks we went to from Masai Mara to Amboselli National Park. It was a 7 day itinerary and my first trip to Kenya. The food (I am vegetarian) and the hotels booked were already taken care of before we landed and good information provided to us as and when these were completed. The ride to all the places were very comfortable with good breaks for washrooms, supermarkets and souvenir shops.We relied on his instincts to spot the animals and it was the best decision since he was able to get us to the lions, hyenas, zebras, elephants, giraffes and leopards, also the birds, as close as allowed by national park limits. I got some great pictures on the 1x of my phone. Being also the owner of a mirrorless zoom camera, Johnson was incredible in stopping at the best spots to take pictures. 1. Premium Pricing, Budget ExperienceLion’s Rider charged us premium rates, claiming to offer “exclusive” and “luxury” accommodations. However, what we actually received were basic, low-profile lodges — many of which lacked proper cleanliness, amenities, or even the safety measures expected for international travelers. We felt misled.2. Poor Planning & CoordinationThere was no clear itinerary shared in advance. On the ground, coordination was chaotic — delayed pickups, missed timings, and last-minute changes became a norm. Rather than relaxing, we were constantly anxious and confused about the next step in the journey.3. Unprofessional ConductThe staff lacked professionalism and courtesy. There was minimal effort to resolve issues, and at times, we felt ignored or brushed off when raising genuine concerns. Basic hospitality — something you’d expect even on a budget tour — was completely missing here.4. Misrepresentation of InclusionsMany attractions and services that were verbally promised during the booking — including certain game drives, meals, and lodge quality — were not delivered as described. Amazing Safari, Fantastic Guide and Care !
I honestly could not recommend Lion Rider Safari's highly enough. Considering we had very limited knowledge of the geography of Kenya and where to go to see the variation of wildlife we wanted to experience. We were completely in their hands when booking. They arranged accommodation, entrance to National Parks we just had to turn up. Johnson Mule (our guide) met us with a smile and off we went.All the accommodation was both varied, luxurious, interesting and gave us a fabulous insight to the different places we stayed at. The National Parks were chosen for us to showcase the various wildlife and scenery. Johnson took us out on game drives which allowed us to take in at close quarters the wildlife, he was so informative and happy to answer any questions we had. He could not have looked after us any better than he did. The way he took responsibility for our time spent in Kenya meant that the only thing we had to do was live and enjoy every minute of our trip, which we did thoroughly!If you plan to put your faith in spending the most amazing time that Safari has to offer then Lion Rider is absolutely the company to choose. Sadly I am able to only put a couple of photos on this review (due to my computer skills) We have so many more fantastic pictures, having seen elephants, leopards, cheetahs, lions, hippos and so much more the couple I have added are relatively tame by comparison.

Highly recommend Lion Riders and Simon!
We had a 6 day guided tour in Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and AmboseliOur guide Simon was great from first moments, always on time, car always clean and ready. He made stops every 2 hours in case you needed a washroom.He had a good knowledge of all the places and sites. He planed all days very professionally, with all play games, long drives and meals. We traveled with Lion Rider for the first time, and I only have fantastic things to say about them.We corresponded with Johnson, who responded quickly and thoroughly to all our questions right from the beginning of the booking process.During the trip, whenever we needed something from the hotel staff—like a late lunch or an early breakfast before the official opening hours—he made it happen.On the safari, we could truly feel that he was just as passionate about spotting the animals as we were. He had incredible instincts for reading the animals’ behavior, which led us to the best locations and viewpoints, allowing us to see the animals up close and take many amazing photos. We managed to check off every animal we wanted to see.He answered all our questions about Kenya and the wildlife. Amazing safaris with Lion Rider Tours and Safaris
We had the most amazing two safaris with Johnson in October. We were in contact with him beforehand and he helped us plan the best tours for us. Exceptional Safari
We went to four areas on our safari and our guide, Mule Johnson, made it exceptional. Recommend going in September to 1) Get away from crowds, 2) Lack of bugs, 3) The wildebeest migration brings most of the animals from the Serengeti up to Kenya and they are everywhere. Absolutely amazing game drive in NNP. We saw more animals than expected and Johnson was excellent driver.Pick up at time and we spend 7 hrs in the park.
